Welcome to our Starter Culture Collection.
The Little Creatures starter culture strains are segregated, and cultured separately to our Aquarium use collection. All equipment and culture medium are exposed temperatures over 119 degrees Celsius while pressurized at approximately 30psi.
The collection is expertly maintained and frequently used to reset our commercial cultures, minimising time upscaling smaller amounts available externally.
We've made these strains available to the public with no claim of purity, however to the best of our knowledge our starter culture collection is ideal for starting your new Phytoplankton culture. BOTTLES OF STARTER CULTURE COME IN A WHOPPING 250MLS SERVING, allowing you too fast track your new culture. Strains that require Silicates have the option available in the drop down menu. You will not be able to add silicates to strains that do not benifit from the addition of silicates. If you require Silicate solution for another reason, you can purchase it separately. Should the selected live phytoplankton strain be suited to F2 GULIARD or Walne's the option will be available in the drop down menu. In short, you can purchase the starter culture alone or with suitable add-ons. For your convenience unsuitable add ons are not available!!!
If you purchase the available options you will have enough kit to grow a whopping 250 litres. That's less than 60c per litre. Moving forward, now you have your culture underway, it will cost less than 20c per litre using our silicates and phyto nutrients.
Dose your reef tank at 25-75mls per 100 litres aquarium volume. Use Tiso, Chaeteros and Phaeodactylum when Dinoflagellates and diatoms are a problem. Silicate dosing UV and other measures may be required with certain dinoflagellate strains.

SHIPPING- upon receiving your order we will evaluate the stain ordereds durability and ship accordingly. We reserve the right to issue a full refund for extreme rural locations.. We will only ship express if the strain purchased is sensitive to the current climate or expected travel time is not suitable.
We have two types of fertilizer available, the WALNES and F2 GULIARD. The Walne's is especially good for Tetraselmis, Pavlova, Phaeodactylum and Isochrysis. In saying that the F2 is a cracker around micro algae nutrient.
