This is an excellent macroalgae which is native too Port Phillip bay.
Collectors description and name.
This is an excellent, reef safe, hardy macroalgae which grows to be very beautiful and is perfect for beginners. It's one of the only macros I have which is good at surviving/growing in a brand new tank which hasn't been maturing for several months, and once the tank is mature they grow very well. It seems to do well either in the substrate or on a rock or even growing on the tank glass, but it is a little picky with positioning as most macros are so its best to buy a few frags and place them in different places in the tank to increase your chances of success.
This is actually the Victorian native version of this algae, so it does not require tropical temperatures and grows very well at room temp with no need for a heater or chiller (although it still does very well at normal tropical tank temperatures
