Collectors description
This is an amazing macro algae which is perfect for beginners, it is similar to caulerpa taxifolia in appearance and in care, except that its only about half the size (and caulerpa taxifolia is illegal in Victoria as it is very invasive). It grows very fast and it's extremely hardy for a macroalgae, it's one of the only algaes I have that consistently survives in a brand new tank that hasn't been maturing for a long time. This algae doesn't even need a heater as its adapted to the local temperatures in Victoria, and all of these frags are grown at room temperature without any heaters or chillers, although it also does very well at standard tropical tank temperatures. It easily grows from a tiny frag of 1cm or less, so it's very easy to propagate. Super tough, super temperature tolerant, fast growing, awesome macroalgae that's perfect for beginners. This algae is a key part of my 100% filterless Saltwater planted tanks, in which it grows very well.
